About me

Despite the job title, writing is only a small part of being a technical or UX writer.

This is why we’re also known as content strategists or information developers. I like to think of us as documentation detectives. 

The biggest and, at least for me, best part of any writing project is research. It’s finding out who knows what about the product and the users. Who are the SMEs? Where’s that information stored? Is there a spec? How many user types or personas are there? Is there a mock up? How do I access the application? Can I access the application? Very often, you need to dig deep. Really deep.
